One exciting project was a visit to Guatemala and Colombia through my business, AWL Travel. I led a group of CEOs and board members from Anderson Foundation, Wayfarer Foundation, and Mona Foundation to see pioneering girls-education initiatives, resulting in multi-million-dollar, multi-year commitments from each organization.

Cancer Treatment in Uganda

In rich countries, many patients with cancer live long, healthy lives because of their access to sophisticated drugs. But low-income countries can’t always afford those drugs. So my business partnered with The Max Foundation to design a conference in Kampala for corporate executives, drug manufacturers, distributors, health ministers, doctors, and patients from 20+ countries to collaborate on increasing access to testing and treatment across the continent of Africa.

The resulting drug donations and expedited regulatory approvals have saved countless lives across the continent.

Affordable Housing in Seattle

As Leadership Officer at Compass Housing Alliance, I convened a working group of data analysts from Amazon, Deloitte, and Microsoft to improve data analytics and outcomes for unhoused populations using emergency shelters.

The resulting data influenced city and county officials to partner with these corporations and invest in new 24-hour emergency shelter models across Seattle.
