Brand & Communications
I lead brand strategy and communications for philanthropies and NGOs focused on social impact and sustainability.
I’ve worn a lot of hats across paid, owned, and earned media, overseeing PR, crisis communications, brand, audience development, and channel strategy.
Solid strategy is important, but telling real people’s stories with dignity will always cut through the noise. That’s what I try to do wherever I go.
See a few meaningful projects below.
Gates Foundation
Brand and Creative
As a Senior Communications Officer at the Gates Foundation, I led global campaigns with $MM budgets. I particularly loved the Generation Equality Forum campaign in partnership with the United Nations, which garnered $40B in commitments and supercharged Melinda French Gates’ leading voice.
I was also proud to help conceptualize the foundation’s first podcast, launch a pandemic crowdfunding website with digital and in-person activations, and produce creative content featuring grassroots leaders, foundation staff, and co-chairs Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates around the world.
Fetzer Institute
Ford Foundation
Wayfarer Foundation
Spiritual Imagination
My creative agency This is the Local Media Group led creative and brand development for a $MM collaborative funding platform led by the Ford Foundation, Wayfarer Foundation, and Fetzer Institute. Our Spiritual Imagination framework held creative and channel strategy together, profiling a dozen grantees in video, photo, and flat assets, raising millions of dollars from new foundations.
We traveled the USA to profile Buddhists building community in prisons, Muslims transforming neighborhoods with affordable housing, LGBTQIA+ Christians undoing harmful theologies, and Indigenous leaders restoring land to its ecological truth.
I led a team of ten, delegating production across the project. One video I produced was for Native Organizers Alliance, which you can see below.
